Jackie grew up playing guitar from age 13, influenced heavily from blues greats B.B. King, Albert King, & Freddie King. Later in life he was turned on to Eddie Hazel (Funkadelic) and Sly Stone. He also began singing and writing songs at an early age.
He is a guitar player, songwriter, singer and "a shade tree drummer".
“I always liked to write my own stuff, even when I was young. It just felt like complete satisfaction to write the words and the music."
Today his influences range from hip/hop to gospel.
